Daniel left a career in corporate education to retrain as a forester in 2020. He completed the Level 5 and Level 6 qualification in Forestry and was awarded Forestry Student of the Year in his final year. He has worked for Forest Service Northern Ireland inspecting planting sites across Northern Ireland and for RJ Woodland Services in his native Co Tyrone as Establishment Forester. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and has particular interests in native woodland establishment.
