Certification Standards

Certification

Forestry Services Ltd are the First Private Forestry Company in Ireland to achieve ‘Dual Certification in Forest Management.

FSL Group Scheme are Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified, issued by Soil Association Certification Ltd.

FSC® and PEFC are internationally recognized, independent non-governmental organizations that were established to promote responsible sustainable forest management to protect our world forests.

We are the first and currently only private forest management company in Ireland to secure forest management certification to both FSC® and PEFC standards. In this regard, we can now certify woodlands and forests, evidencing management to the highest international social, economic and environmental standards.

Certification

Forest Management Certification

Forestry Services Ltd (FSL) Group Certification Scheme offers owners a scheme to achieve Internationally recognised Forest Management standards. Certification benefits include flexibility, wider markets and potentially a premium price for their timber into the future.

Other advantages include mitigation for climate change though carbon sequestration, increase biodiversity and provide a framework to engage with interested stakeholders.

The Group Certification Scheme is audited annually by an independent body, an Accreditation Body (CB). They will audit the forests management unit and the systems in place to manage the group.

The certification label will ensure verification to the end user that the forest is managed sustainably, balancing environmental, social and economical principles of sustainable forest management.

Forestry Services Ltd are now welcoming new members to our Group Certification Scheme -certification@forestryservices.ie
